In 1995 Hiller released a very personal audio documentary entitled Little Present which detailed his visits to his five year old son in Tokyo. Although separated from the child's mother, the two are very close. This sound documentary includes a plot narrated as the story moves on, interupted by aural images and edits of Tokyo's cultural landscape. the cover reads: My name is Holger Hiller. I have called this CD "Little Present". It consists of a story and 13 music tracks made from audio recordings of Tokyo. I think the charm of the man-made sounds and images of Tokyo lies in the way these man made objects "talk to you" in a quick and changing succession, interpreting and replacing the "natural" environment. At the time my son was living in Tokyo and this is the story of one of my various trips visiting him.
